It is day 2 of Symantec Week–the end of the summer three day extravaganza where we have a ball showcasing our talents, skills and opportunities here at Hopeworks. Today we did service at Holy Name School, Grace Lutheran Church and here at the CRIB. It was a packed day. After the service, we had a cookout and now are headed to Rutgers for the digital storytellying film premiere. It will be awesome to see all of the youth’s films.
I also had an opportunity to meet some family today—folks gathered before the film to chat and visit. That was great. Just love the sense of community and support that we can do when we all come together.
I also had the opportunity to meet with a mom of one of the potential CRIB youth. Very special, as she visited and toured the CRIB. It is a big step for her to see her son move here and I was impressed with how her heart is big enough to say yes to him coming here! A mom’s love is so beautiful.
