Each year Lowe’s Heroes volunteer program helps to improve the communities where Lowe’s employees work and live. This year five South Jersey Stores combined to work together on one project that they hoped would have a major impact on the community. Alexa, a Lowe’s associate at the Gloucester Township store has also been a Hopeworks Literacy Volunteer and suggested that they check out Hopeworks. Well, once the Lowe’s Team visited, Juanita, the project manager says, “We fell in love with Hopeworks! We love what they do, how they help youth move ahead with their lives, go to college, and get internships! We felt this project would continue to help the community for a long time, even helping to lift up generations!” So they repaired some ceilings, painted three rooms, laid down miles of new carpet, re-planted our flower bed, installed a new sink and toilet, repaired doors, shelves, donated furniture and vacuum cleaners and the list goes on and on. They were here for four wonderful days and they could not have been friendlier. Our staff and youth fell in love with this crew and we can’t believe how great everything looks! Thanks Lowe’s for everything, especially your generous and caring spirit! We love our new rooms! Check out some pictures of this great team as they are hard at work!
Thanks Lowe’s for our very own Extreme Makeover!
