Hopeworks News: April 2007
| Hopeworks Holds First Digital Storytelling Film Festival! |
On Monday April 23, 2007 Hopeworks hosted its first Digital Storytelling film festival on the Camden campus of Rutgers University. Approximately 60 of our friends, relatives and community members came to support the youth in their inaugural effort. Dennis Thomas welcomed our guests before introducing his piece entitled “You Can Stop the Struggle”. Each youth then presented their films: Ashley Garibay “Girls Need to be Protected”, Danny Castelan “Stereotyped”, Manuel Zapata “There is a Hope”, Yvette Reyes “Sunshine After the Storm”, Angel Rodriguez “Opportunity After Opportunity”. We are looking forward to our second screening at the Painted Bride Art Center in May during their Rock the Pen Program. Congratulations to all of our filmmakers! Click here to see the films... |
