| Hope Through School Summer Program A Big Hit! |
The youth at Hopeworks ended this summer with a bang! For 7 weeks, 15 youth had the opportunity to learn, grow, and have fun all at the same time. Trainees learned Internet Basics, HTML 1, and PhotoShop! They made their own movies and went on trips to the National Liberty Museum and Six Flags Great Adventure! In our Literacy Program a team of Literacy Volunteers provided each youth with one-on-one tutoring, over 200 individual tutoring sessions in all! In addition to all of that, they were able to plan, organize, and accomplish a neighborhood park clean-up. We are all looking forward to keeping the success going as we move into the fall and our HTS after-school program gets back in session. Click here to read the full story.

More Hopeworks Youth Attend College This Fall And Join The Rank Of Alumni |
After a summer of hard work in our production department, Hopeworks youth are heading to college! Mario Arriola, a Business major, and Lilly Roman, a Psych major, return to Camden County College as upperclassmen and mentors to our two freshmen, Jamaal Johnson and Miles Roman. Miles, who graduated from Penn Tech, is a music major and says, “So far classes are awesome. Going to college is a dream come true for me." Jamaal, a Woodrow Wilson graduate, is still undecided on his major. We also want to recognize Danny Castelan, who after a summer internship at The Philadelphia Stock Exchange is continuing his studies at DeVry University, and Angel Rodriguez, who after a successful year at Camden County College, has transferred and moved into his dorm room at St. Joseph’s University! Good luck to all of our College Youth!

This summer Hopeworks provided over 200 one-on-one tutoring sessions for our youth. We're looking to continue this in the fall, but we need your help! Come in and read with one of our youth and you'll be helping to create hope in the lives of Camden youth. Contact Shawn Mack for more information.
Hopeworks connects all trainees with caring and supportive adults in order to help them learn and grow. Trainees e-mail that person twice a week. All our welcomed to apply, but we especially need males. For more information or to apply, click here.

Hello! I am excited to join the staff of Hopeworks. I am starting my year as a Jesuit volunteer and am pleased to be at Hopeworks. I am from a suburb of Chicago and I went to the University of Kansas. I graduated with a BA in communication studies and a minor in leadership studies. I am eager to learn from the staff and trainees at Hopeworks and I hope to make a positive impact during my year in Camden!

Trainees at Hopeworks are looking forward to the invasion of the little ones when 3rd and 4th graders from Holy Name School take over our back training room for typing lessons. This year our Jesuit Volunteer Rachel Burns will be leading them from September through May.
