Hopeworks News: February 2006

In life there is a time for everything: a time to smile, a time to cry, a time to laugh, a time to be sad, a time to work and I time to play; now it is time for me to say goodbye. My time here was an experience that I will always hold close to my heart. From the first time I stepped into the doors of Hopeworks, the welcome that I received was unbelievable. Everyday here was a new challenge that I undertook with open arms and an open mind. The helpfulness of staff and trainees was immense not only when it came to the work I needed their help to complete but also when it came to deeper issues. My time here will forever be in my heart and the positive effect on my life will be shown everywhere I go. The trainees at Hopeworks are my role models; they have excelled the stands society has set for them and learnt skills and done things (example give talks at conferences) that persons in their “said positions” just don’t do. Just as many who have passed through these doors, so will I leave to always to “learn to learn” as I continue my life’s journey. This is not the end; it’s the beginning of a new chapter of my life. As I say goodbye to those I have grown to love and appreciate here at Hopeworks I want you to know I will always be out there checking up on you and I will miss you dearly.

Thank you and goodbye,
Zelka Martin
