The
Hopeworks Experience
The Hopeworks Experience
has two areas of focus, Educational Development and Computer Training.
Educational Development
Acceptance into the Hopeworks
College Bound Program (HCB) will be based on the results of the TABE test. Requirements
for HCB are the following:
- A potential trainee will have to test on at least a 9th grade level to be considered for the program.
- After a youth begins training at Hopeworks, he/she will
have a personally designed curriculum set up to prepare
for the Camden County College placement test.
- Trainees will work on strengthening their skills in
math, reading, and writing to prepare for the placement
test, which will be taken at Camden County College. Trainees
are regularly assessed to determine their readiness for
the placement test.
Hopeworks Computer
Training
Youth
participate in Hopeworks computer training. The Hopeworks curriculum
is an integrated web-based training that allows youth to achieve:
- Basic computer literacy in
Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel
- Digital Imagery skills
- Computer File Management
- Skills in web site design/development
- Exposure and skills in Geographic Information System programming
(GIS)
