Experience
Benefits of the College Experience:
- Youth will be studying with their own peer group
- Youth have the opportunity to participate in a weekly workshop where they discuss issues that they are facing in school.
- Camden County College has an established program of developmental
courses that allow a youth to strengthen their abilities in reading, writing, and mathematics.
- Youth have the added benefit of academic support from Hopeworks while enrolled in school.
- Youth can earn their high school diploma while they earn their
Associates
degree. Trainees are able to
earn their high school diploma if they choose to take the HSPA
test.
- Youth have to take and perform at a proficient or advanced
proficient level of achievement in all sections of the High
School Proficiency Assessment (HSPA) test in order to qualify to recieve their diploma.
- Youth must complete 30 general education credits. 15
of these credits must be in the following five areas:
- Communications
- Mathematics
- Sciences
- Social Science
- Humanities
- Trainees will earn an Associates degree.
