Hopeworks College Bound (HCB)
What is HCB? Hopeworks College Bound (HCB) helps youth to gain the necessary
educational experience to enroll in college. Specifically,
HCB is designed for any youth who have have a desire to enroll in college. HCB works with youth to prepare them for the Placement test at Camden County College so that youth can enroll in Camden County College under the Ability to Benefit Program.
Why HCB?
The Ability to Benefit program is a Federal program
that allows youth over the age of 18, who test at level 2 of the Placement
Test, to qualify for financial aid in the form of a grant for their first 30 course hours. Youth who successfully
qualify for this program are able to enter college. Once in
college, youth have the opportunity to take any developmental classes
that they need. Upon completing 10 college classes, youth
then qualify to take the High School Proficiency Assessment and to earn their high school degree.
Thus, while working toward an Associates Degree, youth are able
to earn their high school degree.
