The e-Mentoring Program is designed to support the personal and professional development of the at-risk youth trainees at Hopeworks via regular email contact with a mentor. The mentor will support the youths’ own personal and professional goals, give the trainee valuable practice on their communication skills and provide invaluable professional contacts for the youth.

What is a Hopeworks Mentor?

    A mentor is someone with the drive and commitment to help a young person who’s at risk of not living up to his or her potential because of the disadvantages with which he or she is burdened. At Hopeworks, these young people learn the life skills and business skills they’ll need to launch them into productive careers.
    A mentor supports the personal and professional development of a trainee at Hopeworks via regular email contact, thereby supporting the trainee’s personal and professional goals, giving him or her valuable practice with communication skills, and providing invaluable professional contacts.

Why Does Hopeworks Need Mentors?

    Hopeworks gives our at-risk youth trainees the basics they need to begin their careers.
Mentors help them take the next step: applying their skills in the real world, but in a completely supportive and helpful environment. The support of mentors can increase trainees’ confidence, and help them stretch their wings like no simple class or textbook can.
