Responsibilities
- Make a commitment to your Hopeworks trainee.
- Provide a short biography or resume to mentoring@hopeworks.org
- Communicate via email to your trainee at least 2 times
per week.
- Encourage and advise your trainee on any areas of personal
and professional development.
- Participate
in Mentor Evaluations.
General
Information
- A
mentor is matched with a Hopeworks Trainee.
- There's
no preset format for your emails. However, you should
write them in a professional manner (proper case,
punctuation, grammar, etc.).
- All
email communications will be monitored by the Hopeworks
Formation Director. Please be sure to copy (cc) mentoring@hopeworks.org on
all communications with a trainee. The trainee will
be instructed to do the same.
- Hopeworks
will provide suggested topics upon request or through the Hopeworks Newsletter. These are suggestions to help
you build your relationship with your trainee. Please use these suggestions as needed.
How
do you become a Hopeworks Mentor?
- Contact the Mentoring Program Coordinator
(mentoring@hopeworks.org)
if you are interested in becoming a mentor.
- The Mentoring Program Coordinator will contact you by
email asking you to complete the Mentor
Agreement.
- Upon receipt of your agreement the Mentoring Program Coordinator will assign the mentor with a trainee to mentor.
