Hopeworks News: March 2003
Hopeworks Mentoring Program
Hopeworks will be starting a mentoring program. The goal of this program
is to connect trainees with adults who can provide encouragement during
a trainees time at Hopeworks. We are excited about this new program
and are asking for your help.

Jeremy Proffitt joins the Hopeworks Team
Jeremy Proffitt has joined Hopeworks as our new web designer and director. Jeremy will be replacing April Claggett who will be leaving Hopeworks at the end of March. April is expecting a child next month. A welcome to Jeremy and blessings to April.
Camden Online Resource Guide
An exciting project that Hopeworks is developing is an online database of Camden resources. This database will be searchable by keyword, category and neighborhood. Individual agencies and resources will be have access to maintain their own information.
As part of the development of this database, Hopeworks has developed a "technology survey" for
any agency that is providing technology services to Camden City residents.
To participate in this survey please click here.
CHA and Hopeworks
Hopeworks has been awarded a contract from the Camden Housing Authority to provide GIS training, web training and youth formation to youth. As part of this contract, youth will participate in summer employment, attend the national GIS convergence in San Diego, California in July, earn college credit from the University of Montana and participate in an environmental study of selected Camden Housing Authority sites.
The GIS team is growing!
Our youth GIS team is growing. Hopeworks
recently hired 6 youth to fill out our youth GIS team. We now
have 10 youth total who will be working 17 hours a week with
us. Beginning in April, all 10 of these youth will
be taking online classes from the University of Montana
for which they will each earn 3 college credits.
