VERITAS
Backup Workshop
a Success

Backup training participants
Hopeworks and Veritas sponsored a FREE community technology training in September to help local organizations learn the importance of backing up data, and develop a personalized backup plan for their organization.  Eight different local organizations came together for the morning training. Each left the workshop with a personally tailored backup strategy for their organization.

Gathering around to see an example

That afternoon and the following day, 15 Hopeworks youth gathered for a more extensive and hands-on training.  Making use of tape libraries, zip disks and network backup programs, youth learned various methods of backup.  The highlight of the day was a "backup scavenger hunt" in which youth had to master 7 unique backup skills. Winners participated in a raffle for a Lexar Translucent Memory Stick and other prizes.

Thanks to the many Veritas employees who generously made this training possible!
