Internships
Hopeworks works with youth in two major areas: school and jobs. In our literacy program, we work to help youth increase their skills in literacy and math so that they can begin to take college-level courses. Once trainees are in college, we help them succeed at the college level. In the area of jobs, Hopeworks trainees can earn a job in our Web or GIS business, and that is often the first step. Trainees also have the chance to work as interns with one of our internship partners.
Internships at Hopeworks work like this: Youth work about 20 hours a week at the internship. At the same time, they take college classes and participate in literacy and formation at Hopeworks. Most internship last for 10 – 12 weeks and are paid positions.
Corporate partners that have offered internships to Hopeworks trainees include:
The Philadelphia Stock Exchange
The Federal Courts
ARI (Automotive Resources International)
Sunoco CCMUA – Camden County Municipal Utilities Authority
